Day Six, six, six - the number of the leek

In a fit of organisation, yesterday I made today's lunch (and probably tomorrow's too). This is Leek and Potato soup.

Recipe: using the remaining half onion from the cheese butties and adding another middling sized one, 3 leeks (could you have guessed exactly three leeks would be required), 4 cloves of garlic, some thyme, salt and pepper and gently fry the lot until it smells nice. Then add 1 1/2 pints of chicken stock and 750gs of potatos. bubble until they are mushy and then blitz the lot.

The soup's very nice. I'd have been happy enough with it, if I'd bought it from somewhere like Pret or some such. The Thyme though was a waste of time - there just wasn't enough to taste and the occaisional little dark green thyme leaf just made it look a bit mucky. But, not a bad result all in.
