Post 113: Simple Salads from the Garden

This is more of a gardening post than a cooking one. The garden is blooming and I'm starting to reap the crops. Here are two very simple salads:

  • Cherry Tomato, Lettuce and Basil
  • Potato salad with mint and chives


The only items in these not straight out of the garden were the tomatoes (and hopefully by next month I'll have some of those) and the mayo on the potato salad. I well realize that these aren't the most exciting of salads, but super-fresh must count for something.

My quest towards self-sufficiency is doing well this week!

    Lovely, there is no better taste than that straight out of the garden. It makes up for the blood, sweat and tears.
