Post 201: People are nice! Unexpected Chive progress

Yesterday I was *cough* working from home (lucky me; I do realise).

I had myself a lunchtime amble and on the way back on the pavement near my house there were some bunches of Chives with roots and a little sign next to them saying "Chives, please help yourself". So I did. Luckily I had a pen on me, so was able to write "Thanks, x" on the bottom - seemed only fair.

So, I now have a planted fully rooted bunch of Chives. Which is a big step up from the three wispy strands I'd already got growing.

Brilliant; it made my day. If I'm ever lucky enough to have a glut of anything I might leave this nice Mr a few on his porch.

  1. I love chives, a rabbit was killed in my patch by our cat a few years ago and I found it's rotting carcass a week or so later. Not been so keen on using that patch of chives since. I wonder why? You have changed your site, I like it.
