Post 122: This week's veg box contents 31/10/2009

It's getting to that time of year again where every week the box seems pretty much the same. It's shame I haven't got more imagination sometimes; but really, I do find it terribly difficult to think of anything I'd rather have than a roast dinner on sunday, followed by a big ole bubble a squeak with the leftovers on monday.

This box seems to be inviting me to do just that:
  • Potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Onions
  • Leeks
  • Beetroot (the last lot is still a-pickling)
  • Red Cabbage (might have to be a little creative here)
  • Brocoli has been pencilled through and replaced in the box by Celeriac. Bit of a shame that: I've still got last week's Celeriac
  • Brussels
  • Parnsip
  • Swede
It's not firing my imagination.

  1. If you haven't used the red cabbage up yet, make some potato cabbage cakes aka bubble and squeak. I am sure you will like it!!! Go on give them a try...its my faovurite way to eat red or purple cabbage as I liek the call them.

  2. I'm not sure why, but I've never included red cabbage in my bubble - I'll have a go on your recommendation. Thanks.

Go on leave me a message (but don't be mean):
